If you decide to consult Professor Sansone for an orthopaedic complaint, the first stage of the process is to book a preliminary consultation with him. As he practises in various clinics and hospitals in Italy, you can choose the most convenient time and place for you.
Consultation and diagnosis
Each diagnosis takes about 30 minutes, in which Professor Sansone will ask you questions about your complaint and then he will carry out a physical examination. It is always worthwhile bringing any recent past X-rays or scans (if you have any) with you to the appointment.
Treatment
Although Professor Sansone is an extremely experienced orthopaedic surgeon, he also uses, whenever possible, non-invasive approaches to orthopaedic problems – such as physiotherapy, shock waves, or appropriate medication - and he will only operate if it is the only solution, and if you, the patient, are in agreement with this decision. He will discuss all the various possible treatments with you, and ensure you have the information necessary to take an informed decision, taking into account your individual needs and expectations.
He operates either at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas and the Capitanio clinic in Milan, or at the Mater Dei clinic in Rome. These hospitals share a similar ethos of excellence and professionalism, offering the most modern technology, and employing highly experienced staff, who are dedicated to getting you better.
Whatever course of treatment you decide on, Professor Sansone will follow your progress closely until you are recovered.
